My name is Justin Callaway. I remember the first time I saw a camera was when I was a young boy, I would watch my aunt use this old school bulb camera. I would study the way she would change the bulb after 4 or 5 flashes. When I got my hands on it to take pictures I couldn’t understand what went wrong, and why the bulb only took a few pictures before the bulb went out.
I knew I wanted to learn more, so in high school I took a year book class and my mentor introduce me to another camera, 35mm camera. For 2 years I learn how it works, I was able to capture school sports events, social events, club activities and really capture what campus life looked like. After I graduated I knew my love with photography wasn’t over, so I continue on to America River College as well as Sacramento City College. My subject matter grew larger I was now taking pictures for weddings, family and friends function, kids events, sporting events and so much more.

Not only was my canvas getting bigger but cameras were getting better. While I was learning all I could about my 35mm camera, a new Digital Camera captured my eye. I learned more about portraits and still life and how to make the simplest thing truly be a work of art.

I’m currently working as a Professional Photographer for many types of events from still life, headshots, to engagement/weddings.

As a Deaf man I’ve had to listen with my eye all my life. So I am honored when a client ask me to capture a moment that they can remember forever.
Photography to me is the only univeral language. Every picture has a story to tell.

Thanks for reading my love story with photography. I hope to capture the picture that tells your story.
